About Yusuf

Hi, I'm Yusuf. I'm a final year Chemical Engineering student at London South Bank University on an IChemE accredited degree, and I use maths and chemistry every single day, both in my studies and in my work as a lab technician at Element Materials Technology.

I got an 8 in GCSE Maths and a 7 in GCSE Chemistry, so I remember exactly where students tend to get stuck, and I know how to get past it.

From 2018 to 2021 I volunteered as a teacher, running weekly classes of up to 15 students. That taught me to be patient, to explain things in more than one way, and to keep going until it properly clicks. I'm friendly and calm, and I want every student to leave a lesson feeling more confident than when they started.

About the lesson

Lessons cover KS3 Maths and GCSE Maths (Foundation and Higher, all main exam boards), and I'm happy to help with KS3 Science too.

In the first lesson I find out where you are and what's holding you back. From there we work through topics step by step, making sure you understand why a method works rather than just memorising it. Exam technique is a big part of what I do: reading questions carefully, showing working that picks up method marks, managing time, and practising with real past papers and mark schemes.

I teach at weekends (Saturday and Sunday), online or in person within about 10 miles of Ash, covering Aldershot, Farnborough, Guildford, Camberley, Woking and nearby. I'll set a little practice between lessons and keep parents updated on progress.

£25 per hour for KS3 and GCSE Maths, online or in person. Your first lesson is free, so we can meet, work out what you need and make sure we're a good fit before you commit. Discounted packs of 5 and 10 hours are available. Lessons are on Saturdays and Sundays.
