About Christine

I trained at the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University and have two years of teaching experience across Taiwan and the USA, in private and tutoring centre settings. I teach music composition and music theory online.

Most people who love music have never been shown what is actually happening beneath the surface. The depth, the brilliance, the complexity, the angst that composers poured into their work centuries ago still reaches you today, undiluted. I want to show you that world. My teaching starts with the music that moves you, and works outward from there.

About the lesson

You tell me what you want to achieve. We build a plan together and work toward it at your pace. Every lesson is built around your goals, your taste, and what genuinely excites you about music.

What I teach: music composition, music theory, songwriting, and ear training. I help you understand why music affects you the way it does, and give you the tools to recreate that feeling yourself.

Who this is for: adults who are serious and committed, and who come with a clear goal. You should be able to read basic notation before starting. Teenagers are considered on application.
