About Bhumika

Hi my name is Bhumika Iroji and I am currently an undergrad at Cornell University studying biological engineering after doing my freshman year of college at UC Berkeley, where I got an 100%+ in Calculus and a 97%+ in Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Organic Chemistry. My qualifications: I took AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, Precalculus, Algebra 2, and Trigonometry at a competitive Bay Area high school when I was a student, and got an A in the classes as well as a 5 on all of the AP tests. I was also an AP Bio TA, where I set up labs, held review sessions for students, going over test-taking strategies and gaining an appreciation for AP Biology’s curriculum and structure. I know how to specifically study for the exams in these classes since I have taken them very recently. As I said earlier, I did my freshman year of college at UC Berkeley, where I took more advanced coursework like Organic Chemistry and Linear Algebra + Differential Equations, ending with a 97+ in both, which has added to my knowledge in the classes I plan to teach. I additionally had over a 100% in Calculus at UC Berkeley. I was also my high school’s Science Olympiad captain in my senior year and won multiple state medals in Forensics, going on to write Science Olympiad Invitational exams in college.

About the lesson

I’m offering tutoring for AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, Precalculus, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trig, and Linear Algebra. I am additionally available if you require tutoring for the Forensics event in Science Olympiad. I believe that having a strong STEM foundation in high school is pivotal to opening up your options as a student in college, and I hope to encourage both knowledge and a genuine passion for these subjects. I will be willing to be patient and understanding of the student’s needs, knowing that not everyone learns in the same way. I do not plan to tutor more than two students at a time, so I will be able to focus more time and attention into helping them in an effective way that will not only increase their grades in the class, but also increase their appreciation for the subject. I know that there is a lot of unnecessary stress around certain STEM classes in high school, and I hope that starting early from a positive perspective will alleviate some of that. My high school experiences significantly influenced my major and career decisions, and I aim to provide students with a solid foundation that will not only help them excel in their classes but also develop a genuine interest in the material.
