About Sofia

Fully qualified English Teacher with PGCE and QTS in secondary schools. I offer students from primary through to secondary and A Levels students the help needed to reach and exceed their target grades while developing and perfecting their analytical, critical thinking and communication style skills that will not only help them academically and in life beyond education. Thinking outside the box, discussing and asking questions and reading deeper into texts is always at the heart of every lesson so that pupils can become familiar with reading between the lines, practise their writing style abilities and use their creativity. Having worked in multiple different schools and having taken different roles (Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Cover Supervising) I am confident in my ability to teach any type of learner regardless of age or academic level. It has been very rewarding to see my students significantly progressing and thriving in their academic studies and excelling their goals.

About the lesson

My teaching style varies according to each individual student's needs, current level and academic target goals. Lessons generally include lively and in-depth discussions with significant time to ask and answer any questions as well as quiz exercises, practising and preparing for exam-styled questions, sharing ideas accompanied by PowerPoint presentation slides, homework reviewing, essay proofreading and/or editing, reading a variety of texts and resources, progress tracking and reviewing plus more to ensure a productive, educational lesson.
