About HASNA

I understand the importance of recognising each student as an individual and having a pastoral approach towards students. In my practice, I effectively collaborate with parents and work with colleagues in sharing ideas and knowledge in practice, and build professional, respectful, and trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

About the lesson

In my teaching, lessons encompass a range of skill building activities to ensure engaging lessons. I believe it is important to use a variety of stimuli such as ICT (including interactive whiteboards, internet, multimedia creation/manipulation utilities interactive games), drama (in the form of role plays), literature (such as comics books with the KS3 and KS4 and Novels with the A Level, DP) and numeracy-based challenges for the more scientifically minded students as well as for those who struggle in these areas. I have first-hand experience of integrating a cross curricular element into language lessons, with the aim of engaging pupils whose strengths lie in other curriculum areas, and I have derived great satisfaction from seeing pupils discover links between their different subjects.

Moreover, my lessons include cultural aspects in relation to the language and plan suitable differentiation activities which appeal to a variety of learning styles, abilities and backgrounds (e.g. encourage EAL learners to use their funds of knowledge). My priorities are making my lessons inspiring, engaging and accessible to all.

As well as planning for progression, encouraging and supporting every student, I focus on academic progress and achievement. I have a high expectation of my students and I consistently challenge them in lessons and encourage them to do their best. My philosophy is based on increasing student's well-being and confidence.
