About Rafia

My name is Rafia, and I am an astrophysics researcher currently in the process of completing my PhD. I have a strong academic background in physics, mathematics, and data analysis, and I enjoy helping students develop a clear and confident understanding of complex topics.

Throughout my academic career, I have worked extensively with students at different levels, including high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. This experience has helped me develop a calm, patient, and structured teaching style that adapts to each student’s learning pace and goals.

I place a strong emphasis on clarity, organization, and logical thinking. My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence and independent problem-solving skills. I take my responsibilities as a tutor seriously and always strive to create a professional, supportive, and respectful learning environment.

About the lesson

My name is Rafia, and I am currently in the process of finishing a PhD in astrophysics. My teaching approach is structured, patient, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorising formulas, while also building confidence and problem-solving skills.

I usually begin by understanding the student’s current level, goals, and areas of difficulty. Lessons are then adapted accordingly and may include concept explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions. For university-level or advanced students, I also focus on analytical thinking, data interpretation, and clear reasoning.

My teaching techniques combine:

Clear step-by-step explanations

Visualisation and real-world examples

Practice questions with feedback

Exam and assignment preparation strategies

A typical lesson is 60 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged if needed.

I have several years of experience teaching and mentoring students at high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, both formally and informally, including supervising research projects and delivering lectures and seminars during my academic career.

My lessons are suitable for:
