About Domllermut

I am a PhD chemist, university professor, and research scientist with over a decade of experience teaching and working in science.

My academic journey has taken me from Florida, Texas, and now New York, where I currently serve as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx.

My background spans computational and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and data science. I have taught university courses across the full chemistry curriculum, from General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry to Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry.

I have supervised undergraduate researchers, prepared students for national scientific conferences, and published peer-reviewed work in international journals.
Beyond the classroom, I have worked as an analytical chemist in the oil industry, applying chemistry to real engineering and research challenges.

That combination of academic depth and hands-on professional experience gives me a perspective that goes beyond textbooks.
I am also a native Spanish speaker, available for conversation sessions and language instruction at any level.

Whether you are working through a tough concept, preparing for an important exam, or looking to go deeper in your field, I am here to help you build real understanding and genuine confidence in science.

My approach is simple: I meet you where you are and build from there. Science does not have to be overwhelming, it just needs to be explained the right way.

Teaching Method:

I focus on conceptual understanding before memorization. When the foundation is solid, everything else falls into place. I use real world examples, worked problems, and active problem solving. Every session adapts to the student's pace and learning style, whether you are a science major, a nursing student, or someone discovering chemistry for the first time.

A Typical Lesson:

Sessions start with a quick review of where the student is and what they want to achieve. From there we work through the concept together, I explain, demonstrate, then guide the student through problems until they can solve them confidently on their own.

What Sets Me Apart:

I am an active university professor and research scientist with a PhD in Chemistry. I work with these concepts daily in both research and the classroom. I have published peer reviewed research, supervised undergraduate researchers, and presented at national scientific conferences. That depth means I can connect topics to real applications and explain things multiple ways until it clicks.

Who This Is For:

Nursing students and non-science majors who want chemistry made accessible.

High school students in Chemistry, Physics, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus. Undergraduate students in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Calculus, or Linear Algebra.

Graduate students in advanced chemistry topics.

Anyone who wants to genuinely understand science.
