About Maryann

I have been giving private lessons for over five years. I'm a retired Reading Professor and former public school Reading Specialist focused on accelerating learning of early readers including those diagnosed with ADHD, dyslexia and autism. Certified Reading Recovery Teacher Leader.

About the lesson

I believe that instruction is based on assessment of a student's needs and strengths. Assessment- initial and ongoing-is integral to my teaching. I then design a learning plan targeting needs but also drawing off strengths. Every child can be taught to read
