About Kirat
I have taught students from middle school through Grade 12, including AP and IB programs, as well as selected first-year university courses.
Students and parents can expect a tutor who is knowledgeable, patient, dependable, and fully committed to each student’s progress. I prepare carefully, explain concepts clearly, and adapt every lesson to the student’s current level, goals, and learning style. I never assume that a student “should already know” something. When gaps exist, I address them calmly and systematically, without embarrassment or pressure.
My professional background includes scientific research, mathematical modeling, optical instrumentation, invention, data analysis, and senior R&D leadership. This allows me to teach with both academic depth and practical insight.
I have extensive experience with examination preparation, homework support, advanced learners, and remedial tutoring. Whether a student is aiming for top marks, struggling with confidence, or rebuilding essential foundations, I provide structured guidance and steady encouragement.
My goal is to create a safe, respectful learning environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing the confidence to solve problems independently.

My lessons focus on genuine understanding rather than memorizing formulas. I begin by identifying where a student’s understanding becomes uncertain, then explain the concept clearly using diagrams, analogies, practical examples, and carefully chosen questions. We progress from guided examples to independent problem-solving until the student can explain the reasoning confidently.
A typical lesson includes a brief review, clarification of difficult material, guided practice, independent work, and a summary of the key ideas. I also help students improve study habits, examination technique, and their approach to unfamiliar problems.
I am a PhD physicist with more than 30 years of tutoring experience in the United Kingdom and Canada. I am patient, calm, and particularly skilled at identifying the underlying reason a student is struggling.
I teach mathematics and physics from approximately Grade 7 through Grade 12, including AP and IB courses, selected first-year university subjects, and remedial tutoring for students who need to rebuild foundational skills and confidence.
