About Georgia
I am a PhD student and teaching assistant, currently based in Connecticut but originally from the UK. I teach alongside my PhD and have so far been the main instructor for both a Calculus and a Problem Solving course aimed towards early stage undergraduates. I have two master degrees in maths, one from the University of Cambridge and the other from Imperial College, and I was awarded my bachelors degree from Royal Holloway. As you can probably tell, I've done my fair share of exams and university applications; if you would like to spend some time talking about exam strategies, the application process etc. then I am happy to give some tips and tricks!
My area of expertise lies in Algebra and Number Theory, though I do have quite a wide range of courses under my belt. If you are considering tutoring as an undergrad, here are some of the areas I would feel very comfortable tutoring: calculus, real/complex analysis, algebraic or point set topology, algebraic geometry, group theory, ring theory, fields and galois theory, linear algebra and matrix algebra, analytic number theory, algebraic number theory.
Outside of maths, I like to keep myself busy at the gym! I regularly attend yoga, pilates, spin and a few other strength based fitness classes. I also love spending time at the beach, collecting sea glass or going for a swim in the sea!

I believe that maths is best taught and learnt through a wide range of examples and I will always try to give as much perspective on a subject as possible, in order to promote a solid understanding of the material. I have a very calm and relaxed approach in the classroom and when it comes to tutoring - you should feel comfortable enough in asking questions whenever something is not so clear; maths is tricky! During our first initial 'lesson' we can discuss what kind of things you would like help with so that I can plan my lessons accordingly.

Perfect! Georgia taught me the Maclaurin Series for the Further Math's (core pure 2) A-Level. Georgia has a fantastic knowledge of math's, as exemplified by her master's degree in Mathematics and a real passion for teaching, and she taught me with a lot of patience, which was very helpful given that I can be quite slow in understanding new concepts. She was able to make a very complicated concept seem very understandable by explaining with clarity and having a very high level of knowledge in the subject. Georgia first explained the theory and did an example question, then gave me questions to do. I highly recommend Georgia!
