About Rose
Throughout my undergraduate degree, I have nurtured a passion for scientific learning - most specifically I love anything related to biology, but I have experience learning in a professional setting the ways in which all the sciences are connected.
I have tutored both university students and high school students throughout my undergrad, and have professional experience as a hired peer mentor for an upper-year biology course. Alongside tutoring/mentoring, I have educational experience in scientific writing, thesis research and presentation, and can help proofread and edit scientific writing for courses.

For university-level courses, one very important thing to learn is how to rationalize your way to the answer: if you draw blanks on the day of the exam, putting down a good rationale will give you the part marks that you wouldn't get otherwise. In biology, once you learn the themes related to the rationales, it's much easier to understand new information!
For high-school level science and math courses, what's important is to learn the concept in a way that can be remembered best by the student. I use lists, drawings, verbal explanations, comparisons to known concepts, or online tools in order to approach a subject in a different way if the school lesson is difficult to grasp.
