About Niroshan

For me, problem-solving is an exhilarating experience, unequaled by anything else. It would be immensely gratifying for me to be able to contribute something to the understanding of a subject that has given me so much pleasure and joy. It would also be wonderful to have the opportunity to share with others that feeling of pleasure and joy, through teaching.

I was accepted to a graduate program in the Physics department at a distinguished University in Texas but couldn't attend due to the pandemic situation.
As for previous teaching experience, I was appointed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Physics Department of the University of Kelaniya and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayawardenapura. This bestowed a number of duties upon me such as conducting laboratory sessions, grading assignments, and tutorial discussion classes which I did with much enthusiasm whilst sharing my knowledge with the next generation with a sense of blissful satisfaction and responsibility.

Also, I have conducted private physics tuition classes with less time-consuming problem-solving tactics successfully for high school students (AP Physics/Advanced Level) for 8 years.

Some of the classes I have done while working at the University of Kelaniya
Electromagnetism - tutored problem-solving using Classical electrodynamics, J.D. Jackson as a reference book for third-year undergraduates.
Mechanics, Basic Electronics - for freshmen.
Signal Processing and Data Acquisition - for sophomores.
Engineering Mathematics I - Engineering Measurements Practices.
Engineering Mathematics IV - tutored on solving partial differential equations and simulating/plotting using Matlab, Python using numerical methods.
Engineering Mathematics V - algorithms and optimizations using C++

About the lesson

My approach basically depending on the students' capabilities and knowledge. In general, I prefer teaching while solving problems. If the student has a serious problem of applying theories, I would like to give some small problems and observe how the student approaches. when it comes to teaching a theory/lesson, I would always decompose it into subcategories connected with more practical ideas. But at the end of the lesson, an intuitive understanding of the lesson can be guaranteed.
