About Doug
I think showing students about just how much science and mathematics impacts their lives is a sure way to inspire students to learn more about the world around them. A good example is that somebody who pursues finance would respond better to how mathematics shows up in finance and how it would assist them in the field.

I think using personal examples is a great way to teach difficult and abstract concepts that show up in physics and mathematics, especially at the high school and early college level. I always try to start with the abstract and then show how that can be applied to a real setting, and I try to personalize it to the student.
