About Sage
I am a student in the honors program at the University of Connecticut pursuing a B.S. in physics and minoring in business administration. Although I have a great interest in the sciences, I am also a lover of the arts. I've been a ballet dancer for 17 years and am currently the president of Uconn's ballet company. Aside from that, I also enjoy drawing, listening to philosophical podcasts, and writing stories in my free time. The duality of being able to understand and execute the technicalities of subjects like math and science, as well as being able to harness a sense of creativity and individual exploration in my life and studies is what has really helped me excel through my AP classes in high school and the intense college courses I take now.

I believe that an individual's learning abilities are highly dependent upon the way they are taught, and the way they are taught to learn. Struggling in the classroom does not mean a person struggles in that subject, it simply means that the way that subject is being taught is not compatible with them. It is not easy for teachers to cater to the specific learning styles of every student in all their classes, especially in the later years of education. My goal as a tutor is to provide the unique and individualized method of teaching that is most compatible with your specific style of learning in order to strive for success. Most importantly, I hope to provide the necessary tools you need to continue your learning process on your own! Learning how to learn is just as important as learning material itself. Figuring out the steps to the problems, what perspectives to approach with, and your personal strengths and weaknesses can help provide the means to better your learning in any subject at any level.
