About Olive
My journey with the piano began through formal study and performance, leading me to earn a B.Mus in Piano Performance and an M.Mus in Piano Pedagogy. Over 7 years of teaching, I have worked with students of varying ages and abilities, helping them build strong technical foundations and expressive confidence. I believe piano education should be both structured and inspiring. I tailor lessons to individual learning styles and goals, ensuring progress without pressure. I emphasize thoughtful practice, musical understanding, and enjoyment. Outside teaching, I continue performing, exploring new repertoire, and studying teaching methods. Teaching piano is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow in confidence, creativity, and musical expression that positively impacts many areas of their lives.

Piano lessons are most effective when students develop technique alongside musical understanding. My lessons focus on hand position, coordination, rhythm accuracy, sight-reading, harmony, and expressive interpretation. I help learners understand how theory supports performance, allowing them to play with confidence and intention. Each lesson is structured, encouraging, and designed to support steady improvement.
Beginner students focus on basic note reading, hand coordination, rhythm, and simple repertoire. Intermediate learners expand scale fluency, chord progressions, pedal technique, and expressive phrasing. Advanced students refine technical precision, stylistic interpretation, advanced repertoire, and performance preparation. Lessons include guided practice, clear goals, and constructive feedback.
Piano lessons also enhance focus, creativity, discipline, and emotional expression. Students gain confidence as they learn to interpret music independently and overcome challenges. My goal is to help learners enjoy the piano while developing skills that support lifelong musical growth.
