About Sylvia

I have 9 years of experience teaching piano, supported by a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Interpretation and Pedagogy. My love for piano began with its ability to combine structure, creativity, and emotional expression all at once. Over the years, I have guided learners from their first notes to more advanced performance goals, helping them develop confidence and musical identity. Teaching piano is meaningful because it allows students to discover their own voice through sound.

My teaching style is warm, organized, and encouraging. I focus on building strong technique while also helping students play with expression and joy. Students receive clear guidance and gentle correction so they feel supported at every step. I believe music learning works best when lessons are personalized, motivating, and enjoyable. Progress grows naturally through consistency and encouragement.

Outside teaching, I stay connected to music through repertoire exploration, accompaniment work, and creative teaching approaches. I love watching students become confident musicians who can play independently and express themselves freely. Piano is a lifelong companion that brings joy and fulfillment. My goal is to guide learners with patience, clarity, and inspiration.

About the lesson

Piano is a powerful instrument for building both musical skill and personal confidence. In my lessons, I guide students through the foundations of technique, rhythm control, note reading, and expressive playing in a way that feels supportive and achievable. Students learn how to coordinate both hands, develop finger strength, and understand music as a language rather than a set of rules. I create a calm environment where learners feel encouraged to explore music without fear of mistakes. Piano becomes enjoyable when progress feels steady and meaningful.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and goals. Beginners focus on posture, simple melodies, basic rhythm patterns, and comfortable note reading. Intermediate learners strengthen chord fluency, dynamics, pedaling technique, and smoother transitions between pieces. Advanced students refine interpretation, performance confidence, musical phrasing, and more challenging repertoire. I also include creative exercises such as improvisation and accompaniment practice to help students connect emotionally with the instrument.

Over time, students gain independence and musical confidence. Piano lessons build patience, focus, and expressive ability that lasts beyond the classroom. My goal is to help learners enjoy the journey while developing lasting skill. Piano should feel inspiring, empowering, and deeply rewarding for every student.
