About Scotte
Teaching Piano has been a rewarding experience for me over the last 7 years. I enjoy helping college students develop musical knowledge, technical skills, and confidence through personalized instruction.
My teaching approach is based on clear communication, patience, and structured learning. I explain concepts in simple English and ensure students fully understand every lesson before moving ahead.
To make learning enjoyable, I use innovative teaching methods such as digital resources, rhythm training, ear development, visual demonstrations, and song-based learning. These methods help students understand music in a practical way.
Students learn scales, chords, note reading, hand coordination, posture, timing, and expressive performance. I provide regular progress reviews and helpful practice tips that encourage steady improvement.

My teaching methodology focuses on communication, creativity, flexibility, and lifelong learning. I believe piano education should help students develop technical excellence while encouraging creativity, confidence, and a genuine appreciation for music. Every lesson is personalized to suit each student's needs.
Students begin by mastering posture, hand position, finger exercises, rhythm, note reading, and music theory. Once these essential skills become comfortable, they continue with scales, chords, arpeggios, dynamics, pedal techniques, sight reading, expressive performance, and musical interpretation.
I teach using demonstrations, guided practice, listening exercises, and interactive discussions. Students receive personalized practice plans, regular progress reviews, and constructive feedback that encourage continuous improvement.
Students experience a wide range of musical genres while developing creativity through improvisation, accompaniment, and expressive playing. These activities strengthen confidence, listening ability, and artistic expression.
Besides piano, I teach keyboard, rhythm development, ear training, music theory, sight reading, music appreciation, performance preparation, and beginner composition. These supporting subjects help students become well-rounded musicians.
My goal is to inspire every student to enjoy learning, perform with confidence, and develop a lifelong love for piano and music.
