About Phoebe
I am a piano tutor with 9 years of experience and I have taught around 305 students across multiple levels. My focus is on making students comfortable and confident with the instrument quickly. I have helped learners overcome stiffness and hesitation in playing. My sessions are active and movement-focused. I adapt based on how students respond physically to the keyboard. Students gain fluency faster with my method. I emphasize natural movement over rigid technique. My sessions are engaging and effective. Many learners develop strong confidence early. I approach piano training by first removing hesitation from the keyboard. Most students struggle not because of difficulty, but because of overthinking movements. I start with flow-based exercises where hands move continuously instead of stopping at each note. This builds momentum and reduces stiffness. I then isolate weak transitions rather than repeating full pieces. Rhythm is trained using uneven patterns to sharpen timing awareness. I avoid overloading theory and introduce it only when it directly improves playing. Students practice variations of the same pattern instead of repetition, which speeds up adaptation. I also introduce light improvisation to reduce fear of mistakes. Feedback is minimal but precise, focusing only on what matters. Practice is designed to be short but consistent. Sessions are energetic and focused. Over time, students play more freely and confidently without hesitation.
