About Nadil

Hello my name is Nadil Akindu Bandara, age 21, I am a student at the University of Adelaide, reading for a Master of Business Analytics. I have been playing competitively for over 10 years at school and at university level when I was in Sri Lanka studying for my bachelors.

I am a fide rated and I have the chess title of AFM. During my time in Sri Lanka towards the end of my bachelor’s degree I worked as a coach in a chess academy called Kriegspiel chess academy for over a year. I mainly coached students below the age of 10 but my lessons are open for students of any age who are new or relatively new to the game of chess.

As a FIDE-rated chess player with coaching experience, I am passionate about being a chess coach because I enjoy helping others improve their skills and achieve their goals. Chess is a challenging game that requires strategic thinking, patience, and persistence, and I find it rewarding to share my knowledge and experience with students who are new to the game. I believe that every student has their unique learning style and potential, and I take a student-oriented approach to tailor my teaching methods to meet their needs. Ultimately, my goal as a chess coach is to inspire and empower students to reach their full potential and enjoy the game of chess.

About the lesson

We will go through everything from the very rules of chess, to basic tactics, strategy, and opening theory. I will provide you with personalized plans and training regimes that will help bring your game to the next level.

I am extremely student oriented and will tailor my teaching style according to my students’ requirements. Whatever your goals maybe I will help you achieve your true potential.
