About Matthew
I would like to offer my expertise to help you along with your studies. I will provide professional and engaging private sessions to specifically help you build your confidence in your required subject.
As a recent graduate of a scriptwriting, undergraduate degree and a current post-graduate student in Educational Psychology, I believe I am best placed for providing up-to-date, relevant tutoring for English and creative-based subjects. In addition, my aim is to maintaining a focus on the students educational needs first, through my understanding of educational psychology.
My areas of post-graduate research and professional focus is working young people with anxiety and those who struggle under the pressure of exams. As well, I have a keen eye on helping to develop young people's own essay-writing skills and creative writing skills.

Hi! My name is Matt.
My approach to tutoring begins from: 'what do I wish had been different for me?' As I am still studying within the education system, myself, I am acutely aware of the way in which classroom teaching is often not receptive enough to the way in which some young students learn best. I believe, through curiosity, engagement and encouragement, we can find thought-provoking ways to help develop your cognitive skills. After all, it's through our brain's activity with multiple kinds of senses and stimuli that we are more inclined to retain information.
However, beyond just retaining information, education should be about training young brains to interpret, infer and exercise the information in many different kinds of scenarios; be it on an exam question or through outdoor vocational skills. I see the importance of focussing learning to be relevant to the wider world. This, I believe is the most effective way for young people to be engaged with learning.
Let's be inspired about learning!
