About Hannah
I'm Hannah, a sculptor and artist from Ghent, Belgium, based in London. I hold an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art (2025), a Master of Fine Arts from KASK Royal Academy of Fine Arts, and an MA in Art Education from LUCA School of Arts — giving me both an active international practice and formal, specialist training in art pedagogy.
My work takes place at the intersection of art, community, and public space. I bring sculpture into social environments — a queer hairdressing school in Argentina, a community centre in Belgium, a public school in Nepal, and most recently a public sculpture project in an artist garden in London. My work has been exhibited internationally, and I have undertaken artistic residencies across Europe, Asia, and South America. My practice has been recognised through awards including TheCOLAB / Royal College of Art / Yorkshire Sculpture Park Graduate Residency Award, the Fayat Award, Arts in Society Award, and the VOCATIO Award.
Alongside my practice, I have extensive experience teaching art across all ages and levels. I have worked as a tutor and art teacher at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, taught children and young people aged 6 to 17 in after-school art classes, and currently lead adult ceramic sculpture classes in London. I have formal experience in painting, printmaking, life drawing, and anatomical drawing, and am confident teaching and demonstrating across a wide range of media. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have completed safeguarding training.
My teaching is patient, hands-on, and student-led. I focus on building confidence alongside technical skill, and on helping each student develop their own visual language — whether you are a complete beginner, preparing a portfolio for art school, or an artist looking for mentorship and feedback. Perfect! My son had his trial with Hannah, and we found her very professional and knowledgeable in her field. She has a positive energy, and the session was very interactive. My son is studying A-levels in three visual arts, and I believe that with Hannah’s support, he can build a strong portfolio for his uni applications.

Hannah has a calm and thoughtful way of teaching. She takes the time to understand how you think and adjusts her explanations. I especially appreciated the supportive atmosphere she creates. I would definitely recommend her!
Hannah is one of the most patient, talented & kind people. I’ve heard so many stories of her teaching students, she’s passionate, cares about society and would make a great teacher!!
I studied with Hannah and she not only was a great friend but also was so helpful with sharing her knowledge in the best possible way. Super friendly, and really patient and her attitude towards her craft is commendable! I could not recommend her more, you will be super happy to lear with and from her!
Hannah's advice and insight helped me boost my confidence tremendously when it comes to writing about my work. She's very aware that each application has to be specifically tailored while also teaching you tangible skills to write complete and professional looking proposals. Would highly recommend!
I worked with Hannah for a few weeks last year. She was attentive, helpful and hard-working throughout. She’s also just great company and naturally puts people at ease. Highly recommended!
I met Hannah on the first day of the Sculpture program at the Royal College of art when we collaborated on a bricolage project. We instantly connected and have been friends ever since.
Hannah is a very knowledgeable and experienced Ceramic Artist. She is also a great listener, offers constructive suggestions, kind, generous and thoughtful.
She has travelled around the world from Argentina, Croatia and Nepal, for community centric artist residencies.
She is currently artist in residence at The Artist’s Garden on Temple Place on a public sculpture project called “The Women of the Cabman’s Shelter”. This project is part of the COLAB x Royal College of Art x Yorkshire Sculpture Park Graduate Award.
She was also nominated for the Helen Hamlyn Award for Social Design for a project that celebrates RCA colleagues working in security, reception and estates, whose labour is essential but often invisible.
You could not ask for a better tutor to guide you on the journey of connecting to your hands and the wonderful process of clay creations.Hannah is an exceptional tutor and someone I would wholeheartedly recommend to any student looking for both guidance and encouragement. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Hannah through our work together, and what stands out immediately is how patient, thoughtful, and genuinely invested she is in helping others grow.
What I appreciate most about Hannah’s teaching methods is the way she makes learning feel approachable and engaging. She explains things clearly, adapts to the student’s pace, and creates an atmosphere where questions feel welcome rather than intimidating. Her teaching style builds confidence step by step, which makes a huge difference, especially when approaching something challenging or unfamiliar.
One of the things that impressed me most from our shared experience was seeing how attentive and supportive she is throughout the learning process. Hannah has a calm, encouraging presence, and she always seems to know how to make people feel capable and motivated. She doesn’t just focus on results, but on helping students truly understand and enjoy what they are learning.
I’m confident that any student working with Hannah will feel supported, inspired, and in very capable hands.Anyone would be so lucky to have Hannah as a tutor. Not only is she a super talented artist, she has a deep understanding of the theory behind art and design. She's very organized, practical, and cares about her students. Community is very important to her, so she puts in extra effort to make sure that each student feels like they belong, giving even the shyest students the confidence to express themselves through their own practice.
I highly recommend Hannah Hoebeke as art tutor. Hannah is an insightful people person, highly motivated and talented artist. Hannah manages to place her art practice strongly within social reality, without losing approachability towards subjects, her audience or pupils. She has an eye for aesthetics that tell stories and activate their audience, something valuable to learn for anyone interested in art & design.
