About Shannon
A passion of English motivates me to instill a similar passion in all of my students. I love the satisfaction of students learning complex words, reading fluently and writing exceptional pieces. Throughout my career, I have excelled in raising the attainment of struggling students and also helped other students achieve beyond their target grades. I also believe English is not just a lesson at school, but encompasses a wide range of life long skills that benefit students throughout their life. I have taught both AQA and EDUQAS specification at GCSE level and have been an AQA examiner myself for two years. This opportunity has given me a developed insight to the demands and challenges of the AQA papers and therefore teach my students to overcome these barriers.

I believe lessons should be tailored to the students sat in front of me, meeting their needs and ensuring the content helps them progress. They are also rooted in recent research surrounding pedagogy and learning to ensure maximum results. I fully believe that lessons should be interactive and fun with multiple opportunities for me to assess formally and informally throughout.
