About Arun
Hello! My name is Arun Rajan, and I’m thrilled to share my journey and passion for education with you. As I approach my graduation from Baylor University this year, projected to achieve Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and a minor in Sociology, I reflect on the experiences that have shaped my approach to learning and teaching.
Throughout my academic career, I have immersed myself in rigorous science courses, from AP Chemistry in high school to advanced topics like Organic and Physical Chemistry in college. These challenges have underscored the importance of making complex subjects engaging, relatable, and easy to understand. Inspired by my professors, I’ve dedicated myself to spreading this approach among my peers and within the community.
My mentoring experience spans all age groups, from fifth graders at risk of dropping out to fellow pre-med students. I have a particular knack for teaching math and science, subjects in which I have excelled personally—scoring a perfect 36 in math on the ACT. I’ve had the privilege of teaching everything from basic multiplication to Calculus, across a variety of educational settings including local elementary schools, international middle schools, my high school, and even college-level research classes at Baylor.
What drives me is seeing the academic progress and growing confidence in my students. I tailor each lesson to address specific skills, ensuring that students experience short-term success while staying motivated for long-term growth. As I enter my senior year, my schedule is generally flexible, allowing me to accommodate your needs. I’m available for lessons at any time and am happy to provide support through texts for any questions you may have, free of charge.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to plan a lesson. I’m excited to embark on this educational journey with you!

My lessons always begin with quickly reviewing or refreshing a topic that the student has previously learned and will assist with the main objective. I do this to instill confidence before delving into an unfamiliar topic, which can be discouraging at times for the student.
While going over the challenging concept, I always make sure it is broken down into steps personalized to the student. Not every student will learn the same steps, because each path to mastery is different. For me, the lesson is circled around finding what steps to mastery best fit the student, and once it is found, practicing it until it becomes routine.
What I believe makes me particularly skilled is the diverse walks of life I have taught. From middle schoolers at-risk of dropping out, to high schoolers eager to understand research, to fellow pre-medical peers studying for the MCAT, I have taught a wide range of science and math. There is not one student where I haven't helped find their study method, and because I have had so many different interactions, I am bound to find one for you.
I am open to teaching any age range given my experience, but particularly specialize in middle school, high-school, and college level tutoring. As said before, I have more experience with math and sciences, but also have experience with college application essays having applied to college and medical school myself and helping others get in as well.
