About Emily

Hello! My name is Emily, and I am passionate about helping young learners excel in English. With a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), I bring over two years of dedicated teaching experience to my students. I have a proven track record of fostering a love for learning in children from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Year 6.

My teaching approach is student-centred and tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. I believe in creating an engaging, supportive, and interactive learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to achieve their best. My lessons are designed to be both educational and enjoyable, ensuring that students not only grasp key concepts but also develop a genuine interest in the subject.

I pride myself on my ability to connect with my students, building trust and encouraging them to take an active role in their learning journey. Regular assessments and personalised feedback are integral parts of my methodology, allowing me to track progress and address any areas needing improvement promptly.

My goal is to inspire confidence in my students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed academically and beyond. I am committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism and excellence in all my teaching practices.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with your child and help them achieve their full potential in English

About the lesson

Teaching Techniques and Methodology
My approach to tutoring is student-centred, focusing on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. I use a variety of teaching techniques to cater to different learning styles, including:

Interactive Lessons: I incorporate interactive activities such as games, and role-playing to make learning enjoyable and effective.
Differentiated Instruction: I tailor my lessons to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring that all learners, whether they are advanced or need extra support, can progress at their own pace.
Multisensory Learning: I use visual aids, audio resources, and hands-on activities to reinforce concepts and enhance understanding.
Continuous Assessment: I regularly assess students' progress through informal quizzes, observations, and feedback to adjust my teaching strategies and provide targeted support.
Typical Lesson Length
Each lesson is designed to last 1 hour. This duration allows for a thorough topic exploration, including time for direct instruction, practice, and review, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the material.

Qualifications and Experience
I hold a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have 2 years of experience teaching English at the primary school level. My background equips me with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver high-quality education and support to my students.

My lessons are tailored for students in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Year 6. I aim to build strong foundational skills in English, helping young learners develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities. Whether your child is just starting school or preparing for the transition to secondary education, my lessons are designed to meet their needs and help them achieve their academic goals.
