About Joe
Since I was an English teacher for over 7 years, I created my own methodology called Jomatica (Joe's grammar) that uses years of learning to distill the lessons in a more pure and easy-to-learn way. If the student is new, the grammar is taught quickly so that the student can start having basic conversation quickly. In time, more information is learned in small portions to continue learning English. If the student is more experienced, we begin with conversation, only practicing the grammar when the student shows not knowing some matter. We do this grammar very fast (about 5 to 10 minutes) for the student to re-engage in conversation.

I am an American who has been living in Natal since 2005. He has been a teacher for more than 7 years in three different schools. At that time, I began to see that Brazilians had some problems that were not solved in any of the schools. I started to create some tricks and rules to clear the students' doubts. One thing I quickly saw was that there was not a good resource for Brazilians who wanted to take conversation classes. I saw Brazilian teachers trying to control a conversation class with texts to read. The problem is that this method is not natural. Nobody starts a conversation with material about what they said. People just start talking. Combining almost 14 years in Natal where I learned Portuguese at a level beyond basic, knowledge of how to fix grammar difficulties quickly and the ability, found only with teachers who speak English as a native language, to have and conduct a conversation naturally in English, I became a high-level English conversation teacher.
