About Amanda
I have a degree in English Literature with a Creative Writing focus and a Computer Science degree with a focus on Web Design and Analysis. Professionally, I have worked in a professional environment for over 15 years and in customer service for over 20 years. I volunteer weekly with 4th-grade classes helping students with reviewing important concepts, reading, and vocabulary. Additionally, I have helped peers write and edit over 20 resumes. I also value creativity and fun in all that I do and incorporate that as much as possible.
Personally, I am the fun aunt to those I am related to and some that I am not (officially). I can find joy and positivity in a lot that I do and I hope that I can inspire those I work with to look at their progress and improvements with as much excitement as I do.

I utilize flexible and unique teaching methods and techniques that match students' needs to ensure they have fun while learning and retaining information. A typical lesson plan might include a game, trivia, whiteboard work, examining examples, personalized and targeted examples for the student, summaries of what was discussed for parents, and follow-up or "home" work for practice.
I like thinking this is more of a partnership than a teacher/student relationship. While maintaining overall accountability, the student must also participate and communicate. I promise I will not give up as long as I can see my student is trying.
These lessons can be for anyone, child or adult. If you are looking for your first job, taking 4th-grade math, or writing an essay for your college English course. I will meet you to the level you need to produce the results you want to see.
