Excellent, deep subject knowledge of the 11+ curriculum (CEM and GL) KS1, KS2 KS3 maths and KS1 KS2 English Access to large and varied amount of publications to help support and boost your child’s education Material covered includes English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning Strong ability to explain concepts in simple terms to ensure firm grasp Ability to explain in multiple ways Worked with students of various abilities Checks pupils understanding and can sense when students do not understand Identification of strengths and gaps in knowledge Close attention paid to weak areas and resources targeted to strengthen and bolster confidence Aim of every lesson is to stretch student and consolidate any shaky areas of knowledge Prepared to plan and deliver sessions tailored to the needs of individual students Emphasis on accuracy first, followed by speed Homework provided at student discretion though highly recommended for entrance exams Thorough preparation for exam guaranteed provided student begins tuition on time, attends tuition regularly (and completes assigned homework) Strategy for entrance exam preparation includes laying foundations for technique, followed by past papers, highlighting weak areas, reinforcing technique and repeating in an iterative manner to score as high a mark as quickly and confidently as possible. Two years spent studying maths in foundation years at university as well as science degree For an optional £10/hr extra, all written materials will be scanned, uploaded and emailed to the student avoiding the need to purchase books. This also includes all material sent as homework. I possess around 200 books and past papers, covered by 11 different publishers. This represents a substantial cost saving on books compared to the initial outlay needed to prepare for the 11+ exam which can stretch into several hundred pounds. For an optional £10/hr extra, a detailed online tracker will be created and updated to chart progress of student, details of which can be shared with student A tracker is recommended especially for exams, and especially so for entrance exams where students face stiff competition The purpose of the tracker would be to allow tutor to analyse performance in depth and to more precisely individualise and optimise future tuition plan for student. Rather than commit student development areas to tutor memory, the spreadsheet would be a highly effective tool in exam campaign. Tracker designed to lead to greater success rate in shorter space of time. Features of the tracker include day and date topic was covered; name of publication (it matters); subject topic; subject subtopic; raw score results; percentage score results; detailed identification of and highly specific reason for knowledge gap, step(s) needed to close the gap and homework assignment. Tracker updated for every session spent with student. Tracker data able to be filtered and sorted according to each of the above fields allowing performance analysis over tuition period. Tracker used by tutor to revisit previously identified weak areas sometime days, weeks or months later to perform rapid knowledge retention check and repeat tuition if necessary. Outcomes of the tracker include raw scores, percentage scores, identification of topics which require repeating (usually 75% threshold) and overall monitor progress toward targets. My son online sessions are engaging and squeeze in a wealth of practice, techniques and strategies for the 11+
Really my son found it incredibly helpful in understanding how to tackle exam questions also we have seen that he started showing progress in verbal reasoning .
She did maths, verbal reasoning, comprehension also when he is struggling with a subject she gives more time to explain everything very clearly and easy to understand also gives him more homework to do out of the hours of the sessions.
After every session she send me a report full of explanation about what they did and all his scores also all his work scanned so she keeps me updated which is very good.
