About Joseph
I'm a San Francisco artist, professional arts educator, photographer, and longtime graffiti writer with deep roots in Bay Area graffiti culture. Over the years I've created murals throughout San Francisco, Oakland, and across the Bay Area, and from 2011 to 2016 I was a working artist at the Hunters Point Shipyard Studios.
My artistic background includes graffiti, cartooning, murals, sculpture, photography, and creative design. As an educator, I believe every artist has a unique creative voice. Rather than teaching students to imitate my style, I help them build the skills, confidence, and artistic mindset to discover their own.
Whether you're interested in graffiti lettering, cartooning, mural design, sculpture, sketching, or simply becoming a more confident artist, my lessons are hands-on, personalized, and designed to inspire creativity while building a strong artistic foundation.

Every artist has their own creative voice—my job is to help you discover yours.
My lessons focus on graffiti, cartooning, street art, sculpture, sketching, and creative design. Whether you're picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to refine your artistic style, I tailor each lesson to your goals, interests, and experience level.
Rather than teaching students to simply copy my work, I emphasize the principles behind great art: observation, composition, creativity, storytelling, lettering, character design, and developing confidence in your own ideas. I believe the strongest artists are those who create work that feels authentic to them.
Drawing from years of experience as a San Francisco graffiti artist and professional arts educator, I combine real-world artistic experience with practical coaching in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Lessons are available in person throughout the San Francisco Bay Area or online. Whether you want to learn graffiti lettering, improve your cartooning, explore sculpture, build a sketchbook practice, or simply become more confident as an artist, I'll help you unlock your creative potential while developing a style that's uniquely yours.
