About Theodora

Hello! I'm a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree. I've been lucky enough to perform all over the world (Seattle Opera, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and more!). I have some exciting performances coming up, including Verdi's Requiem with the New York City Orchestra Project and Jason and the Argonauts with Seattle Opera's School Tour. Over the past year, I made four role debuts, including Christine in a Phantom of the Opera gala with Sun Valley Opera and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor with Snug Harbor Cultural Center. Alongside performing, I've taught music privately for over eight years.

Teaching Style: My approach is positive and encouraging. I check in often with my students to make sure they feel on track, and I tailor each lesson to their unique challenges. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach!

Styles Taught: I teach all styles of music. I also have professional performing experience in several, including classical, crossover, Broadway, cabaret, and pop.

About the lesson

My first goal is to create an environment where you can feel at ease. Singing is vulnerable, so my lessons are warm, relaxed, and judgment-free, whatever your starting point.

I'm a working soprano who has sung internationally, performing lead roles in classical and Broadway repertoire (Seattle Opera, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and more). I've also performed cabaret and pop professionally, so I can help you with whatever you love to sing. What makes my approach different is that I teach not only from my technical knowledge but from my experience as a full-time performer. I know what it takes to prepare a role, get through an audition, and sing well when the pressure is on. With my acting training, we also work on bringing a song to life, because a great performance is more than beautiful notes.

A typical lesson starts with a gentle warm-up and a quick check-in on how your voice feels that day. Then we work on your technique, including breath support, a free and resonant tone, and a comfortable range, using exercises shaped around your voice rather than a one-size-fits-all method. Next we apply it to a song you love or are preparing, and I give you clear, kind, honest feedback. You leave with a few simple exercises to practice at home, so you keep progressing between lessons.

Whether you're preparing for an audition, learning your first song, or just want to enjoy singing more, we'll build lessons around your goals. Come curious, bring your favorite songs, and let's have fun with it.
