About Theo
I’m a professional photographer, filmmaker and editor with over 8 years of industry experience. My work spans portrait and headshot photography, events, commercial content, filmmaking and documentary projects, giving me a broad understanding of both the creative and technical sides of photography.
I believe the best way to learn photography is by doing it. My teaching is practical, friendly and tailored to each student, whether you’re completely new to photography or looking to take your existing skills to a professional level.
I’ll help you build confidence with your camera, understand the fundamentals and develop your own creative approach. I’m particularly passionate about portrait photography and can teach everything from camera settings and composition to lighting, directing subjects, posing and professional editing.
Whether you’re learning photography as a hobby, building a portfolio, preparing for further education or hoping to work professionally, I’ll create lessons around your individual goals and experience.

I’m a professional photographer and filmmaker with 8+ years of experience working across portrait photography, headshots, events, commercial content and film. I’m passionate about helping people develop their photography skills while finding their own creative style.
My lessons are relaxed, practical and tailored to your experience and goals. Rather than simply teaching technical theory, I’ll show you how to use your camera confidently and understand why you’re making each creative decision.
Lessons can cover camera settings, exposure, composition, lighting, posing, portrait photography, natural and studio light, editing and building a professional portfolio. I can also help aspiring photographers understand how to work with clients and develop their photography as a career.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, with practical exercises and plenty of opportunity to ask questions and experiment. I’m happy to teach complete beginners through to more experienced photographers looking to refine their skills.
My lessons are suitable for teenagers and adults, whether you're picking up a camera for the first time, developing a hobby, preparing for a photography course, or looking to pursue photography professionally.
