About Nikolai

I hold two Master's degrees in music:
Royal Academy of Music - Postgraduate Certificate in Performance, principal study: piano (UK, London, 2015)
Guildhall School of Music and Drama - Master of Performance Diploma, advanced instrumental studies: piano (UK, London, 2019)
During studies, I took part in masterclasses with world-renowned teachers and pianists, including Ian Fountain, Colin Stone, Daniel-Ben Pienaar, Rustem Hayroudinoff, Martin Roscoe, and Simon Trpceski. I did solo recitals in Russia, Switzerland, and the UK. Also, I won the internal piano competition Romantic Piano Prize, which was held at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
I have 4 years' experience of teaching students of different age groups and levels. My skills and qualities for the teaching process include:
Content knowledge: with extensive experience in piano performance, I teach efficient practice strategies in digestible ways, focusing on proper posture, hand position, finger independence, wrist flexibility, pedaling, and sound production.
Individual approach: carefully selected repertoire to student's specific skill level, individual needs and paces, and musical interests. I offer personalized instruction and genuine feedback that leads to better outcomes.
Encouragement: I keep students motivated by creating a supportive environment to help them stay committed to their musical journey. Moreover, I prepare students for piano exams and recitals, fostering their confidence through consistent and smart practice, and providing emotional support.
Communication: maintaining open communication with students to ensure that their musical goals are met and they are well-informed about their progress.

Dear Students!
I have 4 years' experience of teaching, and have had students of different age groups and levels.
In our one-to-one sessions we will find out what kind of skills you need to improve your playing, or enhance the ones you already have. You will get an efficient personal strategy, including daily exercises and repertoire practice. You will focus on developing better technique - proper hand posture, finger independence, and wrist movements. Also, attention will be paid to musical phrasing, intonation, and expression.

I am happy to share my skills and experience with you!
Please feel free to contact me.
