About Michael
Michael is a Mexican-American writer who crafts coming-of-age adventure comedies about unlikely heroes discovering their true selves. His leads are endearing square pegs looking to fit into round holes, until they find the courage to be their unique selves. Hailing from Los Angeles, Michael is a graduate of CSULA’s School of Television, Film, and Media Studies, and has close to 70 professional writing credits, but he’s most proud of his “Funcle” status given to him by his four nieces and nephew.
Michael served as Head Writer on The Eggventurers (300M+ views) and was a lyricist who wrote the music track "The Bronx Is Where It's At" that premiered on an album with Lin-Manuel Miranda for Alma's Way. Additionally, he was a Roadmap Writers' Shorts Finalist 2025 and Winner of the Hammer Jaxx Prize for Screenwriting in 2022.
As a proud Charter Member of Latinx in Animation and an active speaker on industry panels (Comic Con, Fred Rogers, Cartoon Network, etc.), Michael is committed to helping reshape the media landscape with stories that reflect the depth and diversity of the real world.

I have written for notable clients such as Disney, DreamWorks, Warner Bros., Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Nickelodeon, PBS, YouTube, Fred Rogers, Sesame Workshop, and more.
