About Sam
I've spent almost 10 years designing software for real-time, mission-critical space systems. I'm currently the manager and team lead for flight software for a multi-billion dollar satellite company based in San Francisco.
My formal computer science education includes a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, and a M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. In school I was involved in a research group developing a large-scale computer vision data gathering and processing project, where I was an author on a few different papers.
I really love spreading a passion for computer science, and am looking forward to working with like minded folks who want to dive into the world of computing.

Computers can be used to accomplish a huge variety of tasks and what someone wants to learn is going to be heavily dependent on their personal goals. I think that the most important key to success is to find something you're passionate about and work toward it. I'll work with you to define some specific goals, identify a passion project to incorporate the goals into, coach through the design process, and provide technical guidance on what to learn, how to learn it, and how to repeat the above process to solve problems of arbitrary complexity.
Alternatively, if a student is interested in help studying for any computer science courses at high school or college level, and potentially graduate level depending on the material, I'm happy to work with anyone toward mastering specific course material as well.
