About Maya

My passion for programming began when I realized I could bring ideas to life using logic, structure, and imagination. This interest led me to earn a B.Sc in Computer Science and eventually teach programming for 10 years. Over time, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all ages and levels, helping them discover their own potential in a subject that often seems daunting at first. I teach with kindness, patience, and an emphasis on understanding rather than memorization, creating an environment where students feel supported and encouraged. I believe programming is an empowering skill that helps students grow into confident thinkers. Because of this, I take care to explain concepts in a way that matches each learner’s pace and style. I value building genuine understanding, whether a student is learning loops for the first time or developing more advanced algorithmic techniques. By celebrating every step forward—big or small—I help learners develop motivation and trust in their abilities. Outside teaching, I stay engaged with programming through personal projects, tool exploration, and studying modern technologies. I find joy in continually learning and bringing fresh insights into my lessons. Teaching programming is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow not only technically but personally—building resilience, curiosity, and belief in their own capability.

About the lesson

Computer programming becomes far more approachable when students learn to see code as a language of ideas rather than a series of intimidating symbols. My lessons begin by introducing the foundations—variables, loops, conditions, and basic logic—through clear explanation and simple guided practice. I help learners understand how small instructions work together to produce meaningful output, and I encourage students to explore code without fear of mistakes. These early steps build confidence and curiosity.

As learners grow more comfortable, we expand into functions, modular design, debugging strategies, and object-oriented concepts. I use relatable examples, hands-on exercises, and supportive feedback to help students understand how programs are structured and how logic flows from one part to another. By gradually deepening the complexity of problems, students learn to think carefully and approach challenges with patience. This structured progression helps them gain not just knowledge, but genuine problem-solving strength.

Advanced lessons introduce algorithmic reasoning, data structures, file operations, APIs, and small project development. Students learn to break large tasks into manageable components, organize their ideas, and apply strategic thinking. I guide learners through the entire process—from planning to implementation—so they develop strong technical thinking alongside confidence and independence. By the end of our work together, students feel capable of writing programs that reflect both creativity and logical precision.
