About Georgia

I am a 23 year old woman with a First class bachelor's degree in Psychology. I have also completed A levels in Philosophy, religion and ethics (A), Biology (C) and Psychology (A). My greatest strengths are exam technique and essay writing - truly understanding what the examiner is looking for, clearly and skilfully applying my knowledge to formulate these points and thus, achieving the grades. I am excited to pass on this skill, helping you to dissect and reformulate your essays to make your points clear, succinct and unarguable! Since graduating university I have worked as a Specialist Support Learning Assistant in a mainstream secondary school/sixth form and have worked as a Social, Emotional and Mental Health teaching assistant in a Specialist school for children aged 6-16. This experience means that I have a huge range of skills that allow me to create individualised, engaging and successful lessons that will encourage you to see and achieve your own potential. This includes breaking information down, reframing it, explaining it using different mediums and encouraging open discussion to help you find your own meaning and understanding. My experience also demonstrates my commitment and natural drive to help students with a dynamic range of needs to achieve their potential. Being quite young may make you concerned about my expertise, but I think my recent experience being in your position means I can empathise with you and also understand what you need to a much greater extent!

About the lesson

I will take time getting to know each student, including their preferred teaching approaches, current levels of understanding and areas of difficulty. Lessons will be tailored accordingly to ensure positive engagement and success. An exam-methods approach will be employed to ensure the students’ ability to apply their knowledge to achieve their academic goals. The learning environment will be open, non-judgemental and collaborative to reduce the students’ anxiety and increase their self-belief - since I believe self-held limiting beliefs are a primary barrier to achieving potential!
