I typically go through the material first and explain the different concepts. Questions and clarifications are always welcome any time.
The first thing I do is I take some time to connect with my students and understand where they are at and where they would like to be. I am a very patient teacher (I have taught five year old's how to swim) and I do my best to meet each student where they are at. I base my classes off what students would like to learn and what the student would like to ameliorate. The classes are meant for students in high school who are struggling or would like to do better. I am also willing to help students in their first year of university.
I have several years of experience aiding and teaching special needs children and adults. I find that the traditional methods of teaching, such as lectures and verbal cues, aren't as effective as one-on-one contact and demonstrations, and I strive to make sure that both are incorporated in my teaching styles.
My teaching methods are hands on, giving both verbal and visual examples. I like my students to be involved in the course content and not just writing notes so they are more likely to understand and remember. My classes would be meant for any age from high school to university.
My teaching methods match the way I learn, by teaching people through visual representation. I try to use as many visuals as possible to help put a physical image in your mind to remember, versus just reading text off the page.

Some of my most satisfying experiences as a teacher have come from helping struggling students to grasp difficult concepts, through a combination of individual assistance, class activities, and group discussions. I believe all students have their individual speed in learning, by using various methods and practices students will be given the chance to excel in their own pace and interests.
