About Richard
I am the author of Sir Charles Wogan: Jacobite, Soldier, Royal Agent & Man of Letters, published in 2025. Its publication was the result of ten years of research that took me to archives and libraries in Dublin, London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona and Simancas (Spain). In 2019 I organized, with the help of the Polish and French Embassies to Dublin, the commemorative seminar of the rescue and escape of the Polish Princess Maria Clementina Sobieska by Sir Charles Wogan and his rescue party. In 2021 its follow-on publication received excellent reviews and established it as a significant contribution to scholarship of the eighteenth century.
