About Antonietta

Hey you! I’m Antonietta — your future favourite programming tutor with over 8 years of experience helping students unlock the basics of Python and R. With a Master’s in Bioinformatics, I use coding every day to solve complex biological problems, and I’m here to show you how programming can become a powerful tool in your own hands.

Whether you want to learn coding for your personal growth or work, you’re in the right place. I also offer more targeted classes dedicated to bench scientists looking to step into bioinformatics. I provide clear, structured lessons tailored to your needs — from foundational coding skills to advanced data analysis for bioscience research.

I know coding can feel overwhelming at first, but my lessons break it down into clear, manageable steps, with plenty of practical examples and hands-on practice. I also reference basic theoretical concepts and give you the option to dive deeper—no obligations. Whatever your background or goals, I’ll tailor every lesson to fit your pace and help you build skills that really stick.

About the lesson

In our lessons, we’ll start by understanding your current experience and goals, so I can tailor the session specifically to you.

If you’re new to programming, we’ll focus on building a solid foundation in Python or R — learning the basics step-by-step with plenty of hands-on exercises and real-life examples.

If you’re a bench scientist, I’ll design lessons directly tailored to your needs, helping you develop practical skills that apply to your projects. If I think it's relevant, I can design some classes to teach you how to use other softwares useful in biomedical research.

My teaching style is patient, clear, and interactive — I break down complex ideas into manageable parts and encourage questions along the way.

She asked me help with producing specific ordination plots in R for an ecology class. She was attentive and intuitive and really committed in deeply understanding the statistical concept behind the visualisation itself. I would be happy to have her again as a student if she needs more assistance with coding in the future.

Annalise asked me support for completing an assignment which required the use of R studio. She was kind and patient, her attitude was pro-active and she was interested in learning how to approach the problems. She didn’t let herself be discouraged when the code was not working, and she rather started her critical thinking trying to understand how she could improve it. At the end of the lesson she learned how to look for the tools she needs to solve the questions and she completed some of them without my suggestions. She is definitely a good student and I'm sure she will be able to structure her work more independently for her next assignment.
