About Poovizhi
I am Poovizhi, a Biomedical Engineering graduate from India with an MSc in Biomaterials from the University of Manchester, and I am currently completing a PGCE at Teesside University. My academic background combines strong scientific knowledge with practical teaching training, giving me the skills to explain difficult concepts clearly and effectively. I believe every student can succeed with the right support, and my lessons are designed to build confidence, understanding, and exam success. I bring professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm to every session, ensuring that students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students achieve higher grades but also to inspire a genuine interest in Science.

As a tutor, I focus on creating a clear, supportive, and engaging learning environment. My approach combines breaking down complex scientific and mathematical concepts into simple, relatable explanations with practical examples that help students connect theory to real life. I use questioning techniques to encourage critical thinking, and I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s learning pace and preferred method, whether visual, verbal, or hands-on problem solving. A typical lesson lasts one hour, which includes a short recap of previous material, an interactive explanation of new topics, practice questions, and a summary to consolidate learning. I also provide optional tasks for independent study to help build confidence and reinforce understanding. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from India and an MSc in Biomaterials from the University of Manchester. I am currently pursuing a PGCE at Teesside University, training to become a qualified teacher in the UK. I have experience supporting students in science subjects and explaining challenging concepts in simple, accessible ways. My lessons are aimed at secondary school and college students (GCSE and A-Level) who want to strengthen their knowledge in Science, improve exam performance, or build confidence in understanding complex topics.
