About Tasnim

I am passionate about teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping children grow in confidence and reach their full potential. Seeing a child begin to believe in themselves, overcome challenges and make progress in their learning is incredibly rewarding to me. I believe every child deserves to feel supported, understood and capable, and I aim to create a positive learning environment where they can thrive academically and personally.

My background in Speech and Language Science, combined with my PGCE qualification, has given me a strong understanding of how children learn, communicate and develop. This allows me to adapt my teaching to suit each child’s individual needs and learning style. I understand that every child learns differently, so I take a patient, encouraging and personalised approach to tutoring.

I chose to work with primary-aged children because these early years are so important in shaping a child’s confidence and attitude towards education. Building strong foundations in literacy, communication and maths can make a huge difference to a child’s future success. I particularly enjoy making learning engaging, interactive and enjoyable so that children feel motivated and excited to learn.

As a tutor, I pride myself on being professional, reliable and approachable. I work closely with both students and parents to ensure lessons are supportive, structured and focused on achieving progress. My aim is not only to improve academic ability, but also to help children become more confident, independent learners who feel proud of what they can achieve.

About the lesson

I am a patient, supportive and engaging tutor who aims to build every child’s confidence alongside their academic skills. My lessons are tailored to each child’s individual learning style, ability and pace, helping them feel comfortable, motivated and successful in their learning.

With a BSc in Speech and Language Science and a PGCE qualification, I have a strong understanding of child development, communication and effective teaching strategies. My background allows me to support children with a range of learning needs, including literacy difficulties, language delays, attention challenges and confidence building. I use positive reinforcement, clear explanations and interactive activities to make learning enjoyable and accessible.

I primarily teach primary-aged children between 5–11 years old, including KS1 and KS2 pupils. I can support English, phonics, reading comprehension, writing, maths and general homework help. Lessons are personalised to match the National Curriculum and focus on areas where each child needs the most support.

My teaching approach combines structure with creativity. I break learning down into manageable steps, use visual aids and practical examples, and regularly check understanding throughout the lesson. I believe children learn best when they feel encouraged and understood, so I always create a calm and nurturing environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make mistakes.

Typical lessons last between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the child’s age and concentration level. During lessons, I include a mixture of teaching, guided practice, independent tasks and fun activities to keep children engaged and focused.
Above all, my goal is to help children develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning, while making steady academic progress in a supportive environment.
