I am a kind and friendly teacher who cares. I genuinely find joy in developing my student's skills, knowledge and resilience.

I chose to become a teacher as it is a career in which I get to pass on my skills and knowledge to young people so that they can achieve their goals. Nothing can match that rewarding feeling knowing I've enabled someone to reach their potential and progress in life.

About the lesson

I am a Mathematics and Statistics graduate who has been teaching maths in Secondary schools for almost 2 academic years. I have experience teaching classes from year 7 to year 11. I am currently working in a Good London secondary school. I have taught both Pearson Edexcel and AQA GCSE maths curricula. I am a maths specialist who understands maths anxiety as it is something I’ve personally overcome. This led me to completing my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics. I also support students in exam revision, preparation and teaching key exam techniques to ensure success. Not only do I teach subject knowledge, I also teach resilience, persistence, the power of practice and learning from past mistakes. .

I love to teach in a step-by-step way making it easier for you to understand and learn complex maths topics. I will show you that maths problems can be approached as fun puzzle solving. In a game you follow rules and earn points. Similarly, when you apply maths rules in exams you earn ‘points’ (marks) and succeed! I believe in the power of having a growth mindset as this is what allows us to continually improve. I will ensure that you get plenty of opportunities for practising your skills/knowledge, after which I will assess your answers and give feedback. In my lessons I create an environment in which you feel safe enough to take risks to attempt solving any maths problem I throw your way. It is okay to not be sure, but it is never okay not to try.
