About Alexis

I am Quality Engineering professional with a passion for continuous learning. The best way to enhance this skill? Teaching others! My engineering studies and industry experiences have allowed me to recognize that I have a passion for helping others, as well as furthering my own knowledge, skills, and capabilities. This passion is fueled and ultimately fulfilled by sharing the techniques and resources that helped to support my learning journey and career path in order to equip others with the skills to identify how they learn and grow best to achieve their personal and professional goals.

About the lesson

I have always been a very hands-on, visual learner. Therefore, I leverage very interactive and iterative techniques when independently studying as well as relaying content to others.

To ensure content is solidified, I enjoy illustrating concepts and principles via flowcharts, colorful study guides, and bucketing lessons accordingly. This method has proven successful for the isolation of pointed questioning, thus ultimately directing focus toward areas that require the majority of opportunity for improvement.

A typical lesson plan may include a review of content learned in a given or desired scope period, parsing out the key concepts to be mastered, performing a reconfiguration of steps in a manner that is uniquely digestible for the student, and directly applying the process and techniques to a select pool of homework or practice questions.

Lessons may be applicable for a variety of mathematics courses among the k-12 levels.
