About Harry

First Class MSci Physics graduate, currently undertaking a PhD in the Quantum Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training at the University of Bristol. I have over four years' experience tutoring physics and maths to both undergraduate physics students and A Level students. Previous experience tutoring GCSE maths. My main priority is assisting A Level students with their studies, as it is such a crucial time in a student's education journey, therefore I offer tutoring for Physics and Maths at A Level, as well as beginner programming in Python.

About the lesson

Physics and Maths lessons revolve around actively solving problems together, including past paper problems and examples. These problems will be relevant to the particular syllabus, with the potential to explore more advanced topics outside of the syllabus (depending on the confidence of the student). Lesson format is quite flexible and my style is that of patience and acceptance; physics and maths can be very daunting - it is no small feat to undertake qualifications in these areas. Beginner programming lessons will follow more of a 'syllabus' style, with myself actively teaching the student the fundamentals of programming in Python in a more structured manner. Each lesson contains exercises for the student to work through during and after the lesson.

Harry has been fantastic with our 15 year old who lacks in confidence with maths. Over the weeks of tuition, it has been lovely to see his confidence grow and for him to develop more of a have-a-go attitude. Harry has been great at setting follow up tasks for him to complete after each session, then beginning each session with a recap, therefore enabling consolidation before moving on to another topic. His friendly character has also meant it was easy for our son to get on board with the tuition and build a good relationship with Harry. We would highly recommend him.
