About Oriane

I am a writer and long-time lover of French, English, and Spanish literature, three languages that I speak with native fluency. I graduated from UCL with a bachelor's in Philosophy, having had to teach myself English for years beforehand. I started first as an English second language teacher doing volunteer work for Latin American migrants in London and have fallen in love with it ever since! I aim to provide language lessons that are tailored and engaging. I have taught using many standard models and ultimately have come to the conclusion that every student is different, and so I aim to provide a mix of models as well as approaches entirely unique to whichever interest a student may have.

About the lesson

So often in language teaching, students have trouble finding their own voice. This is the nature of learning a second language. My goal with language learning has always been both practical and expressive. My approach of applied language learning catered to every single student's varied wider interests allows for just that. We will engage with texts and material that actually fascinate you! Learning a language is also learning how to be passionate about something in that very language! All the basics and more formal lessons will be embedded within. Furthermore, as a trans person, I aim to provide classes where queer folks feel comfortable and more ready to express themselves! I provide lessons for any level of French. For more advanced French students looking to sharpen their skills well beyond, we may even engage with some complex French literature.
