About Ayah
I graduated with my BS in electrical engineering from Tufts University. As someone who faced setbacks in mathematical courses in high school, I'm very proud to say I've achieved this!
In university, my peers and I were very collaborative. To ensure our success, we recognized our own strengths and relied on others to assist us in our shortcomings. Very often, we would take turns at the whiteboard teaching each other topics and tackling difficult problems together. We were patient and made an effort to understand the faults in understanding of our fellow peers
Teaching someone else is indeed the best way to reinforce your own understanding - you build up each others strengths and help point out weaknesses. The more you're aware of your bad habits/tendencies, the better you become at catching those frequently made mistakes.
I am now pursuing my master's degree in Innovation and Management.

As an electrical engineering major, I had to be somewhat of a math person since so much of it relies on extensive mathematics and theory, but I remember how much I struggled with algebra going into my freshmen year of high school, and how much it had overwhelmed me and made me feel negative and pessimistic about my capabilities.
I dropped down a course to reinforce my fundamentals, and also enrolled in the Russian School of Math (RSM). Doing so drastically increased my confidence and success with mathematics. I learned that even though I may not know exactly how to solve a problem, I have several ideas on how to tackle it - that is what makes a student successful in math.
I'll teach my students to break down problems, analyze givens, recognize prior weaknesses and tendencies, and JUST TRY different strategies. There is no shame in making mistakes --> if anything, making mistakes makes you learn more efficiently.
