About Jack
I am Jack Stead. I am a recent Music student at Sixth Form and am attending Manchester University to study a Bmus next year. I am here to teach not just for experience, but because I understand completely the stress of A-levels, of GCSEs, of instrumental exams - having been through all of them myself. I want to make that same experience easier for those who need help or guidance or motivation. And I believe that knowing what it's like being in those shoes is beneficial both for me and whoever I teach.

My personal approach is understanding first of all what kind of musician my student is as a person: what they play, how they think about music, their favourite genres and styles, how they approach the analysis and appreciation of music etc.
From then on I will help them to work on their weaknesses and perfect their strengths to help develop their skills with wider listening, powerpoint presentations, essay analysis, practice exam papers etc. ; building confidence both as academics and musicians.
Lessons could vary from20/30 minutes to over an hour. However long the student feels they need to feel comfortable with an area we cover.
I have taught before in a classroom environment as well as a one-to-one instrumental environment and I am confident that I can help any student improve or progress, whether that's a B to an A (7 to 8), or whether that's achieving Grade 4 on piano.
