About Sophie

I’m a professionally trained voice coach and performer, with a particular interest in voice science and the psychology of speaking.

Before my clients get to me, they've often invested a lot of time in speaking training that doesn't get them the results they need. As a performer and business owner, I understand what you need to do to make the right connections verbally.

 I have over eighteen years experience working in improv comedy, hosting, performing in and directing shows, and training others to be spontaneous, creative and funny.

I have a master’s degree in Professional Voice Practice from The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and regularly attend continuing professional development (CPD) sessions with leading scientists.

I used to be a workplace mediator in London, successfully resolving conflicts at a rate of 93%, all within one day, and I trained others in the skills they needed to be in-house mediators.

I taught English as a foreign language for 10 years after getting the Cambridge Certificate, known as CELTA. I coach British English accents coaching to actors and use those exercise to help executives sound clearer and more powerful when they present.

I've worked with clients from all over the world and with many different language backgrounds. These include the UK Government, The National Health Service (the NHS), Google, Ticktock, Traveloka, Facebook, the financial sector, start-up founders, event managers, financial and business coaches, comedians, lecturers, poets, all on their speaking, presentation and communication skills.

Improv comedy is a powerful set of techniques and processes that connect you to your playful, creative side as well as finding confidence in expressing bold, honest truths. It's a vital part of honing professional skills connected to spontaneity, collaboration, creativity, agility, listening and team-building.

I've performed in and hosted shows all over London and across Europe and Asia. I regularly perform and train with the improv comedy company Hooplaimprov.com in London Bridge.

I was born in London and grew up here. I've lived in 5 different countries across Europe and Asia and know about the frustrations connected with expressing yourself in a different language and different culture.

I live in South East London with 2 cats and a large coffee pot. I am an unashamed fan of reality TV and North American sitcoms. One day I will achieve my dream of doing yoga more than once a week..
