About Meglis
Hi, I’m a Biomedical Scientist working in the NHS with a degree in Biomedical Science. My background is in blood sciences, including haematology and transfusion, and I’ve spent several years working in a clinical laboratory environment where accuracy, understanding, and clear thinking are essential.
I’ve always enjoyed science, but what I enjoy most is actually helping other people understand it. During my studies and in my work, I often found myself explaining complex topics to colleagues or students in a simpler, more practical way, and I realised I genuinely enjoy teaching.
I want to teach because I know how challenging science can feel when it is first introduced, and I believe a lot of students struggle not because they can’t understand it, but because it isn’t always explained in a clear or relatable way. My goal is to make science feel more logical, approachable, and less intimidating.

My approach to lessons is centred on building understanding rather than memorisation. I focus on breaking down complex scientific concepts into clear, logical steps so that students can understand not just what the answer is, but why it is correct.
I tailor my teaching to the individual student’s level and goals, whether that is improving exam performance, building confidence with difficult topics, or strengthening core scientific knowledge. I believe that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my explanations and use real-life examples where possible to make science more relatable and easier to understand.
