About Stewart
I am a retired Civil Engineer, but I've spent most of my career designing and building residential homes. I'm also a professional singer, and have acted in a number of theatre productions.
On the side, I have spent many years as a substitute teacher and tutor. I find math a really fun challenge, and I very much enjoy spreading this love of math to my students! I also look forward to teaching remotely - I think communicating online is a necessary skill in general these days, and I anticipate being able to help many more students this way than the old method of one-on-one in-person tutoring!

My lessons are geared to the student's level and their particular needs. I'll start off by assessing their knowledge of math and physics by going through some basic problems - not as a test, but as a conversation. This is how I learn very quickly where they are coming from in terms of math and physics fundamentals, so we can proceed together in their learning.
I like to work with the Khan Academy learning track; I've found this is extremely helpful and produces excellent results with students. Again, I use this as a useful tool, but I couple this with online one-on-one lessons so that the student gets immediate feedback, help and encouragement.
I provide lessons for all levels of math and physics from Grade 7 to Grade 12.
