About Paul
Dear Student/parent:
I just want to say that I am great at breaking down complex concepts and I am very patient. If a student is struggling to understand the way that I am presenting then I will look for an alternate method of explaining the concept. I do not get flustered with students lack of understanding.
I have great rapport with the students that I teach. A couple of days ago a student came over to my house and thanked me for teaching her and to let me know that she just received her degree in Mathematics. I receive comments and stories like this frequently, and this is a constant reminder to me that teaching/tutoring is what I have been called to do.

Teaching a class is slightly different than tutoring but I have created a blog with all of my teaching lessons on it, and students can access it for notes and answers to the textbook problems. I have active studio downloaded on my computer and I may use it as a tool to teach. With active studio I can create graphs, download pictures and videos. I can use tools such as a compass, a ruler, and a protractor. I also have a graphing program that can create all sorts of Function and non function graphs including shading inequalities or showing area under the curve.
The first thing that I will do is to get to know the student, ask them their grade, hobbies, interest and then use questioning techniques to find out what the student knows and does not know. I try to use the same questioning techniques to help the student solve the problem and to understand why the problem can be solved in such a manner. Mathematics is a logic subject, not a rote memorization subject.
